The pilgrimage site is located at the top of Hostýn Hill from the middle of the 16th century. The Basilica itself is dedicated to the Virgin Mary and was completed in the middle of the 18th century. Another attraction is the Holy Crossway from the architect Dušan Jurkovič with typical Wallachian architecture.
